Even the opening credits are similar in style and cinematography, I guess that’s a Taylor Sheridan trademark.
Billy Bob Thornton delivers his grizzled, mean, no-nonsense with typical Billy Bob Thornton sarcasm
There’s a scene in one of the first few episodes where Thornton’s character gives a long speech about the necessity of oil in every area of our lives, which definitely sounds like scripted oil industry propaganda, but none of what he says is untrue.
Overall, I think this will be a great series, the writing is great, the acting is great, and the characters are very human
It’s kind of funny that the first few episodes are sponsored by the American Petroleum Institute and feature ads featuring oil and oil workers.
