19th century widow Eva (Odessa Young) is faced with an impossible choice when a shipwreck occurs off the coast of her isolated fishing outpost in the middle of a particularly brutal winter. Eva and her crew must choose between salvaging the wrecked ship or surviving the winter on the last of their food. Faced with the consequences of their choices and plagued by their own guilt, the villagers grapple with a growing sense of fear and begin to believe that they are all being punished for their choices.
