Sawyer’s character was originally intended to be a dapper, suit-wearing, older urban hustler from Buffalo, New York. However, when Josh Holloway forgot a line during his audition and then kicked a chair in frustration and swore loudly, the writers liked the twist he gave Sawyer’s character and decided to write Sawyer as a Southern bum. Jin and Sun are married and share the last name “Kwon,” which becomes a major plot point in the final season.

LOST transcended TV writing and encapsulated thematic theory when it hit the screens in 2004. That was 14 goddamn years ago, and the show is still going strong. Oh really.
