Maria Callas’ longtime companion Aristotle Onassis later married former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy
Story
Maria Callas, the world’s greatest opera singer, lives out the final days of her life in 1970s Paris as she confronts her identity and life. Angelina Jolie and director Pablo Larraín discuss how they connected to the true and moving story of world-renowned opera singer Maria Callas. Kennedy was the subject of a previous Pablo Larraín biopic, 2016’s “Jackie,” starring Natalie Portman in the title role.
I’m in the mood to be fawned over

Maria is a solid musical biopic
A great lead performance from Angelina Jolie holds this film together very well and I admire how much she put into this role, especially the operatic singing. The plot is a bit confusing and the pacing is a bit awkward, but I still think the film is purely entertaining enough to enjoy and is also educational about this period and opera in general. It is a beautifully shot and directed film.

I love the editing and the black and white scenes are beautiful. I think this is a solid film from Pablo Larrain with a possible Oscar-winning performance from Angelina Jolie. “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres of this month.
